AND THE CELEBRATION CONTINUES

Since Betsie's actual birthday was spent on the road bringing Patrick home from his mission trip, we had her local celebration a day late. I had told her that I felt bad that her birthday was spent on a long, long van ride but she sweetly said that Patrick's homecoming was the best birthday gift she could have receieved. And that's what makes her so special and so loved. She wasn't saying that just to make me feel better, she really meant it. That girl's spirit is truly growing to reflect the spirit of our Lord.

And that sweet spirit is what makes her loved by so many, not just her family, but folks at church, fellow homeschoolers, ministry partners, and just about everyone else that knows her. Hence, the huge crowd of thirty-six who were at El Potrillo's tonight to celebrate Betsie's eighteenth birthday and also bid her farewell as she leaves for college in two weeks.

If I could get my photos to upload from my camera to my computer, I could show you so many of the dear ones who were there, but alas, it is being ornery so these two Instagram shots will have to do.

The Big 18 !

We're just a party waiting to happen. #betsies18thbday

I've said it before but let me say it again,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BETSIE!!! You are a true joy and gift in my life. I am going to miss you like crazy when you leave for college and I move to Swaziland. Only the Lord and the sweet ones He has called me to love in Swaziland could take me so far away from you. I love you, beautiful girl!
