WE'RE STILL HERE

Even though we move to Swaziland in less than two months and will actually be going there tomorrow to lease a house, buy a vehicle, and make other plans, we are still living here in downtown Jackson.  We still have neighbors who knock on our door needing food, we still have people who come and volunteer to help, we still prayer walk in our community, we still help cold homeless folks get a blanket or coat, we still live here.  We still love here.  We still serve here.

Please pray for us over the next two months that we will be able to balance both preparing for our move and also still loving the people here that God has called us to be with.  We want to finish our season in Jackson well.

One of our fellow missionaries, Levi Gill, recently made this video (with the help of our son David).  It explains what we do at We Will Go.  I hope you enjoy it and I hope it will help you better know how you can pray, not just for us, but for the whole We Will Go family....the missionaries and volunteers who serve here as well as the folks who come here every day needing a variety of things, but ultimately, needing to experience the love of our Father.

LIVE YOUR LIFE

“You ought to live your life with such freedom and joy
that uptight Christians will doubt your salvation.”

Steve Brown, A Scandalous Freedom: The Radical Nature of the Gospel

If you are looking for some freedom and you hunger for grace-based joy, I highly recommend the book that this quote is from as well as many of Steve Brown's other books. God used him greatly in my life about fifteen years ago to set me free from so much stuff that was holding me back from being who God wanted me to be. You can find more information on his writings, listen to podcasts, and request free materials at this website: http://www.keylife.org/

SWING IN THE NEW YEAR

Happy New Year's Eve from all of us MacLellans at We Will Go to all of you out there all around the world.

Our New Year's Eve began with a big ole country "bupper" (breakfast at suppertime) followed by prayer, worship, and dance at the worship pavilion. Then it was home for a mini-party. Usually, our house is packed on New Year's Eve, but plans had to change with our move into Jackson. We're keeping it small with just a couple of the teenaged guys friends, popcorn, sweets, Sorry!, sparkling grape juice, and watching the televised dropping of the ball in Times Square.

This time next year, I hope to be settling into our new life in Africa. But for now, as I said, Happy New Year's Eve from our not-so-little house in the hood to yours!

May all your God-given dreams come true in 2013!

Wildness MacStyle

After all, anyone that knows us well knows that a MacHouse just isn't a MacHouse if there's not a been big, loud, crazy party held.

Now there's definitely been one! Jim grilled burgers out behind the back porches this evening and we had a bunch of the We Will Go folks over to welcome a new intern, Levi, and a visitor from Ireland, Sarah. With the burgers, we served all the fixings, bbq beans, and chips (including Cajun CrawTaters and Who Dat ones). Others provided cole slaw, veggies and dip, cheesecake brownies, and strawberry cake. African children's music played in the background. The only thing missing? A messy, soda spill.

Life in the 'hood is good and I love my We Will Go family.
