HELLO LEAKY GUT

One of my kids has just been diagnosed with "leaky gut" and has high yeast levels. We've got to treat it with strong probiotics, aloe vera, Glutamine, Resvero, Turmero, and GI Synergy. We also have to have him go on a paleo diet for the next 10 weeks.

This is going to be tough even on this "eats pretty healthy already" family. The nurse practitioner recommended the book PRACTICAL PALEO, especially the chapter on "gut healing".

Anybody else have any tips or advice? Especially where helping a KID eat this way is concerned. I mean, what do you eat for breakfast when you can't have oatmeal, grits, or cereal???

Elysa- several of the staff on the FIAR board have done or are doing Paleo. If you haven't already- ask on the boards.

Sorry to hear this. :(

(((Elysa))) Hugs to you friend,

I know how hard it is to make dietary changes. Just take it one day at a time and know that you CAN do this! We don't eat paleo, but do all eat gluten free (which is most of the breakfast foods you mentioned).

Breakfast here might include eggs, bacon/sausage, smoothies, fruit, yogurt (not sure if this is paleo?), applesauce, granola (GF).

Hugs to you friend
