A PHOTOGRAPHIC PEEK AT OUR EASTER WEEKEND
Our weekend actually started a bit early, on Thursday. We spent Passover with the We Will Go family in inner-city Jackson.
On Friday, we had a stay-at-home day...lots of relaxing and outside fun for the little kids.
On Saturday, we went to a birthday party for a little friend from church.
And that evening, we decorated eggs. See our Jesus egg?
Sunday morning's highlight was the passing out of the traditional chocolate crosses.
After breakfast, it was time to head to Restoration Church to celebrate the resurrection of our precious savior.
In children's church class during the sermon, the kids made these cards.
And after the service, we took a bunch of photos. The one above was made before one of our kids, who will remain unnamed, knocked over the tall vase that also held the communion elements.

Lunch was a delicious meal of stuffed eggs (made by Anna and Betsie), turkey breast, asparagus, sauteed squash and zucchini, rolls, and various sauces and gravy.
After nice, long naps, we had our egg hunt. First the kids hunted for our decorated boiled eggs, then it was time for the Resurrection Egg hunt.
The teenagers comprised the peanut gallery, a la "The Outsiders".
As is our weekly tradition, we had pizza and a movie for our Sunday night family time. In honor of Easter, we watched China Cry. This true life movie reminded us that Jesus didn't just come to give us eternal life, He came to give us abundant and radical life here on earth.
Hallelujah! Christ is Risen!
