WOULD YOU PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN?

..

Children's Cup, an amazing ministry that I first learned about while in Swaziland this past January, is asking people across the world spend the next 40 days focusing in on praying for children, especially those who are living in places facing high rates of HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty. To learn more about the prayer plan, visit their website at http://fortydays.childrenscup.org/ .

Today is day 1. May this post guide your focus:

.

Jesus, we are ready for you to do something OUTRAGEOUS…AIDS is such a huge problem, especially in Africa. We are asking for you to heal people from this disease that, for man, is incurable. It is too big for us to handle, but nothing - ABSOLUTELY NOTHING - is too difficult for you.

.
Do this your way, for YOUR GLORY.

.
In Jesus’ name, AMEN

.
This was written by Africa director of Children’s Cup, Ben Rodgers:

.
"Yesterday was a tough day. Susan took one of the ladies that helps us around the house to the doctor to get some help with her continual medical problems. This is where she learned that she is HIV+ and has TB. Then last night one of the ladies from the church broke down during church because she is struggling right now. She is coughing up blood consistently, (most likely from TB). Some days it feels like disease and death surround us on every front. It is so easy to slide down the slippery slop to hopelessness. Can I blame the people of Swaziland for feeling hopeless? They are constantly watching their friends and family die from HIV/AIDS.

.
BUT…
.
I know that my God is great. He can do the things that man says are impossible. I experience everyday how God uses us, as Children’s Cup, to bring hope to thousands of children and the adults that surround our CarePoints. I know that He is using us to help change the direction of an entire generation. I BELIEVE THAT! I TRUST HIM FOR THAT! That is what gives me strength everyday to carry on when things don’t go the way I think they should."

This is one of the beautiful Swazi women that we were blessed to meet. She serves faithfully at a Children's Cup carepoint taking care of the precious children who come there for food, basic education, Bible teaching, and love.
