I'm Mortified

You know, I really do know I'm not perfect. But despite that, it still hurts when I mess up...especially when its done publically. I said something that I really didn't mean to say in the way that I said it and now I'm totally mortified. The person involved is fine with me and not offended, but I'M offended. I just can't believe that once again my mouth betrayed me. But then, its happened so many times over the years, I don't know why it still surprises me.

I sure would appreciate your prayers today. I woke up with a sick feeling in my stomach this morning and just can't seem to get over it.

Why is it that we often can forgive others so much easier than we forgive ourselves?

My favorite quote from George Eliot says it best...

"Oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person: Having to neither weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out just as they are-chaf and grain together-knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping and then with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away."

Sounds like your friend has blown away the chaff! I hope you can let it go...Thank God for GRACE!!!
